Natural of Souza, Paraiba, the artist moved to Recife in 1970. Self-taught, he participated in Pernambuco New Salon of 1984, held at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Pernambuco.

He was part of the group Branco do Olho together with the artists Bruno Monteiro, Charles Douglas, Daniel Santiago, Eduardo Romero, Izidorio Cavalcanti, Luciana Padilha, Marcela Camelo and Rodrigo Cabral.

Braz Marinho came to live in Portugal between 1990 and 1992, where he painted panels in tiles and made illustration for publicity.
