Painter, engraver, photographer. He started his degree in architecture and studied engraving in metal with Sérgio Fingermann. Between 1983 and 1985, he joined the studio Casa 7, along with Carlito Carvalhosa, Nuno Ramos, Paulo Monteiro and Rodrigo de Andrade. At the beginning, his work, made in large formats, presents broad brushstrokes and strong colors, an expressive invoice that approaches the Italian transvanguarda and neo-expressionism. Already at the end of the 1980s, the artist began to produce abstract canvases laden with pictorial matter, which tended to monochromatic, using lowered tones. Already in the canvases produced since the mid-1990s, the backgrounds often become large gray or white areas, and the artist explores the dilution of ink and the intensification of colors. The invoice becomes more transparent. At the same time, the artist is dedicated to photography.
