A year ago, Marcela Florida set her studio in an industrial warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, which she shares with fifteen other artists, giving continuity to a practice she has always cherished: conviviality and exchange of information and criticism with friends of the trade. The place houses all the ateliers and provides a coexistence of ideas in the immersive and solitary practice of painting. She maintains constant contact with the friends of the three cities in which she has professional ties: Rio de Janeiro, New York and London, and since 2013 corresponds with Anita Schwartz, who keeps a close eye on her trajectory.
